KNOW YOUR

RIGHTS

NLG Rochester supports activists with issues related to our legal system. One important component of that support is informing people of their rights as it relates to protests, the court system, and worker organizing. The national chapter of NLG regularly publishes Know Your Rights guides. NLG Rochester hosts Know Your Rights trainings both publicly and privately by request. If you would like to request a Know Your Rights Training for an upcoming protest, union campaign, or any action that would benefit from a legal perspective, you can contact us at rochester@nlg.org.

Know Your Rights Training

We provide Know Your Rights trainings for groups and organizations tailored to specific actions. It is important to know your rights while planning an action and we can help with that. You can email us or call us to request a training.

Worker Organizing

NLG Rochester made a zine about workers rights to organize in their workplaces. The zine includes information about the basic steps to form a union, your legal rights to organize, and common illegal boss tactics.

Know Your Rights: A Guide for Protesters

The National Lawyers Guild created a new version of their Know Your Rights pamphlet, with more information for protesters at higher risk of being targeted by law enforcement. Check it to get information that will help you know your rights and risks for planning actions.
